X (Twitter) Listening Reports

With the Tweet Binder API, you can create reports to analyze content from X (formerly Twitter). This content primarily consists of posts (tweets). It's important to distinguish between counts and reports, as they serve different purposes:

Counts vs. Reports

  • Counts return only the number of tweets matching a specific query.
  • Fast and lightweight
  • Useful when you just need the volume of activity

  • Reports provide complete analytics, including user stats, hashtags, devices, timelines, and more.

  • More detailed, but slower to generate
  • Ideal for deeper analysis

Types of Reports and Counts

There are two main categories of tweet analysis: historical and live.

Historical Reports

Used to analyze tweets from the past. These can be counts or full reports:

Type Description
7-day count Total number of tweets from the past 7 days
Historical count Total number of tweets from any custom date range
7-day report Full statistics report from the last 7 days
Historical report Full statistics report from a custom historical period

Live Reports

Used to analyze tweets in real time, from the moment the report is activated.

  • No counts are available in live tracking.
  • Engagement data (likes, reposts, impressions, etc.) is not included initially, because tweets are collected too quickly.
  • Engagement stats can be updated later if needed.

Search Operators

When building your queries, you can use advanced search operators to refine results. Here are some of the most commonly used:
